Cozy MC is an independent Minecraft community. Cozy MC is not approved by or affiliated with Discord, Mojang Studios, or Microsoft Corporation.
What SMP Chat does
SMP Chat is a private instance of DiscordSRV, an open-source Discord-to-Minecraft chat-bridge plugin.
It provides a two-way public chat bridge between the #in-game-chat channel in the official Cozy MC Discord and public chat on Cozy MC’s main survival Minecraft server.
Messages deliberately posted by Discord members in #in-game-chat are transmitted to the Minecraft server and displayed to players online on the main survival server.
Public Minecraft chat messages are transmitted to #in-game-chat.
SMP Chat also posts selected public Minecraft server activity in #in-game-chat, including:
player logins;
player logouts;
advancements;
deaths;
player kills; and
server online or offline status.
Minecraft-to-Discord messages may use a webhook that displays the Minecraft player’s username and Minecraft skin avatar.
The screenshots below show the same two messages, one typed in Minecraft and one typed in Discord, as each is seen from the other side.

Public nature of the bridge
The #in-game-chat channel is visible to members of the official Cozy MC Discord.
Messages posted in #in-game-chat are displayed in public Minecraft chat. Messages written in public Minecraft chat are posted in #in-game-chat.
By deliberately posting in either public bridge location, a user is choosing to have the message displayed across Discord and Minecraft.
A member who does not want a Discord message transmitted into Minecraft should not post it in #in-game-chat. The member may continue using other Cozy MC channels and services.
Public Discord messages and Minecraft events posted in #in-game-chat may remain visible in Discord until the applicable message is deleted by its author, where available, or by authorized Cozy MC staff.
A message already displayed to another person cannot necessarily be recalled from that person’s device. Minecraft game clients may independently retain local chat logs outside Cozy MC’s control.
Channel and permission scope
SMP Chat’s Discord message permissions are limited to the #in-game-chat bridge channel.
SMP Chat cannot view:
private staff channels;
support tickets;
safety-report channels;
private moderation channels;
private case channels; or
other public or private Cozy MC channels.
SMP Chat is not intended to provide support through direct messages. Members should use a private Cozy MC support ticket or email [email protected] rather than sending private or sensitive information to the bot.
Discord Gateway Intents
Message Content
SMP Chat uses the Message Content intent to read ordinary text deliberately posted in #in-game-chat and transmit it into public Minecraft chat.
The intent is not used to scan unrelated channels.
Server Members
The underlying DiscordSRV software may require the Server Members intent as part of its runtime member cache and author-resolution system.
Where enabled, that intent is used to resolve the Discord user, current display name or nickname, and role information associated with a message posted in #in-game-chat, including information used for visible bridge formatting.
SMP Chat does not use Server Members for account linking, role synchronization, nickname synchronization, ban synchronization, welcome messages, departure tracking, member profiling, or advertising.
SMP Chat does not maintain a persistent copy of the Discord server’s complete member list.
Guild Presences
SMP Chat does not use the Guild Presences intent.
It does not process members’ online presence, activity status, game status, or active Discord client platform.
No account linking or synchronization
SMP Chat is not used for:
Discord-Minecraft account linking;
required account linking;
Minecraft group-to-Discord role synchronization;
Discord role-to-Minecraft permission synchronization;
Minecraft-name-to-Discord-nickname synchronization; or
Discord-Minecraft ban synchronization.
SMP Chat does not maintain a Discord-user-to-Minecraft-account linking table.
Discord information processed
To operate the public bridge, SMP Chat may process:
Discord user ID;
Discord username;
Discord display name or server nickname;
role information associated with the author’s message;
guild ID;
channel ID;
message ID;
message timestamp;
ordinary message text deliberately posted in #in-game-chat; and
message update or deletion events associated with the bridge channel where required for bridge operation.
Where the Server Members intent is required by DiscordSRV, guild-member information may be held temporarily in memory while the application is connected.
SMP Chat does not intentionally maintain a persistent member database.
Message types and excluded content
The bridge processes ordinary text messages deliberately posted in #in-game-chat.
It is not configured to transmit the following from Discord into Minecraft:
attachments;
images;
embeds;
stickers; or
reply content.
Members should not post passwords, authentication credentials, real-world addresses, intimate information, private case information, or other sensitive personal information in the public bridge channel.
SMP Chat is not configured to post the following Minecraft information into the public Discord channel:
player IP addresses;
coordinates;
private commands;
moderation actions; or
general console output.
Minecraft information posted to Discord
SMP Chat may post the following public Minecraft information in #in-game-chat:
Minecraft username;
Minecraft skin avatar;
public Minecraft chat message;
login event;
logout event;
advancement;
death;
player kill; and
server online or offline status.
Off-platform message processing
SMP Chat transmits messages deliberately posted in #in-game-chat to Cozy MC’s main survival Minecraft server for real-time display to online players.
Server-side console logging of new Discord bridge messages is disabled.
SMP Chat processes the message transiently and does not intentionally maintain a separate off-platform archive of newly bridged Discord message content.
The original Discord message remains hosted by Discord until deleted through Discord or Cozy MC moderation.
Minecraft players’ local game clients may independently retain local chat logs after the message is displayed. Those user-controlled copies are outside SMP Chat’s and Cozy MC’s control.
Before server-side console logging was disabled, some Discord-to-Minecraft messages may have appeared in rotating operational logs or backups. Those historical copies are being deleted or will expire no later than 28 days after collection, except where a particular record must be retained separately for an active safety, security, moderation, dispute, or legal matter.
Public Discord retention
Messages and bot-posted server events in #in-game-chat may remain in Discord until deleted.
A member may delete a Discord message they personally authored where Discord permits that action.
Authorized Cozy MC staff may delete bridge messages or bot-posted events where appropriate.
Discord independently determines how information is stored and processed on its platform under the Discord Privacy Policy.
Who may see or receive information
Information transmitted through SMP Chat may be visible to:
members who can view #in-game-chat;
players online on Cozy MC’s main survival Minecraft server;
Discord, as operator of the Discord platform;
Cozy MC, LLC;
the Cozy MC owner;
an authorized Cozy MC system administrator where access is needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or maintain the service; and
infrastructure providers acting at Cozy MC’s direction where technically necessary.
When a person deliberately posts in the bridge channel, the person directs SMP Chat to display that message to Minecraft players.
Cozy MC does not sell SMP Chat data.
Cozy MC does not provide SMP Chat data to advertising platforms, marketing providers, audience-matching services, or data brokers.
Cozy MC does not use Discord message content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or prompt artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Retention
Public Discord messages and bot-posted Minecraft events may remain in #in-game-chat until deleted by the author where applicable or by authorized Cozy MC staff.
New Discord-to-Minecraft messages are not intentionally retained in Cozy MC’s server-side console or message-content logs.
Temporary in-memory information is discarded as application sessions, caches, and processing complete.
A limited record may be retained separately where reasonably necessary for:
an active moderation action;
a safety investigation;
a security incident;
an active dispute;
a legal obligation; or
the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal rights.
That case-related retention is governed by the general Cozy MC Privacy Notice rather than ordinary bridge logging.
Access, correction, and deletion requests
Current Cozy MC members may submit a privacy request through a private Cozy MC support ticket.
Anyone who cannot use the Discord ticket system, including a banned or departed user, may contact:
Please identify:
the SMP Chat application;
the Discord account concerned;
the approximate message date or other relevant context; and
the action requested.
Cozy MC may take proportionate steps to confirm control of the relevant account before disclosing information.
Cozy MC does not ordinarily require government identification for a privacy request.
Where a request seeks deletion without disclosure, Cozy MC may process the request without requesting unnecessary identity documentation when it can safely identify the applicable record.
Members may delete Discord messages they personally authored where Discord permits deletion.
Cozy MC cannot recall a message that has already been displayed to Minecraft players or delete copies independently retained by another person’s local Minecraft client.
Cozy MC will delete or restrict applicable off-platform information where reasonably possible and required, except where limited continued retention remains necessary for an active legal, safety, security, moderation, or dispute-related purpose.
Security
The SMP Chat bot token is stored in protected server configuration, is not included in a public source-code repository, and is accessible only to authorized technical personnel.
The Discord Developer account controlling SMP Chat is protected by two-factor authentication.
The bot’s Discord message permissions are restricted to the single channel needed for its bridge function.
Access to protected application files and Minecraft server administration is limited to the Cozy MC owner and an authorized system administrator.
Cozy MC does not intentionally store new Discord message content or a persistent Discord member list outside Discord.
Cozy MC uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, loss, or disclosure.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Suspected unauthorized access, credential exposure, or misuse should be reported to:
Children and teenagers
Cozy MC is a 13+ mixed-age community for teenagers and adults.
A participant must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required by Discord in the participant’s country or region.
SMP Chat is not intended for anyone below Discord’s applicable minimum age.
Cozy MC does not routinely ask SMP Chat users for exact ages, birthdates, government identification, or proof-of-age records.
A parent or guardian who believes SMP Chat has inappropriately processed information concerning a child may contact:
Application discontinuation
If Cozy MC permanently discontinues SMP Chat, Cozy MC will stop using its Discord credentials and delete locally retained Discord API Data that is no longer required by law or reasonably necessary for an unresolved safety, security, moderation, dispute, or legal matter.
Changes to this notice
Cozy MC may update this notice when SMP Chat’s functionality, Gateway Intents, storage, retention, security, service providers, or information practices change.
The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.
A material expansion of the application’s functionality or Discord API Data use will be reviewed before deployment and submitted to Discord for further review where required.
