Build together: megabuilds, roads, and a living Minecraft world
Cozy MC is a co-op Minecraft SMP (survival multiplayer server) for Java and Bedrock, and its world is built by the people who play in it. There's no one right way to be part of it: join a megabuild, build something everyone uses, run an event, or just hang out and watch a living world take shape. The community is the content.
Join a megabuild, or start one
Some of the biggest things in the world are group projects, like castles, towns, and builds too big for one person. Ask in #general on our Discord and someone will point you to a project that could use a hand, or say hello to the builders in game.
It's their build, so ask first: the rules don't let you change a build that isn't yours without its builder's OK, even to help. Want to start something of your own? Projects and kingdoms are organized in our Discord, and that's where you'll find people to build with.
Build something everyone uses
Roads, bridges, and walls that connect towns are builds everyone uses. So are shops: in the End (Minecraft's third dimension), players build and run their own shops in the marketplace district. Even spawn, where everyone first arrives, was rebuilt by player volunteers after the community voted on the plan.
There are no land claims (plugins that lock land to one player), so once you're verified you can start building anywhere outside the spawn areas; just give other builds room. The spawn areas have world rules of their own. Within 500 blocks of spawn in the Overworld (the main world), anything permanent, roads included, needs a passed petition first. The Nether and End spawn areas, End shops included, have their own rules, pinned in #world-decisions on our Discord. The community decides changes to shared areas by petition and vote: a petition passes with at least 60% of the vote over three days.
Run an event, or join one
Most events on Cozy are run by players, and anyone can start one: announce it in game chat or on our Discord. To build interest ahead of time, start a thread in #cozy-forums, link to it in #general, and mention it in game chat. You don't need to let staff know, but staff can give advice, and some events may get a community-wide announcement.
Events follow the same rules as everything else: no casino games or chance-based wagering, like roulette, slots, or prize pools (the Gameplay rules). PvP events (fighting other players) are only for players who've agreed to take part. If you join an event, follow its guidelines and don't disrupt it.
Or just hang out
You don't have to build anything. Wander through towns, watch builds go up block by block, browse the players' shops, help a neighbor get their items back after they die (a recovery trip), or just chat with the CozyKin (that's what we call Cozy's members). It's a living world: other people are building it too, so there's usually something new to see.
Who'll love it here, and who won't
You'll love it if you'd rather build with people than alone; you like big projects, busy towns, and a world that keeps changing while you're away; or you just want a friendly place to hang out while others build. Ask in #general on our Discord, and someone will help you find your people.
It's not the place for you if you want a world all to yourself, or a server built around competition and raiding other players' bases. There are servers built for that, and that's fine; Cozy's survival world isn't one of them.
Join in three steps
Cozy MC is free — no payments, no donations, no pay-to-win — and it's for players 13 and up, on Java and Bedrock together.
- Join the server with your own copy of Minecraft. Java (computer):
CozyMC.com. Bedrock (console, phone, or Windows):mc.cozymc.com, port19132— on a console, add the friendPlayCozyMC. You can explore and chat right away. - Join our Discord at cozymc.com/discord. It's where the community talks, organizes, and gets help.
- Verify, so you can build: read the rules and find the verification word. Then, in #general (a channel in our Discord), send one message with the word, a space, and the exact Minecraft username you joined the server with — that account has to have joined first. Steps: cozymc.com/verify. A staff member grants access, usually quickly and within 24 hours at most.
