A world that never resets
Cozy MC's survival world has been running since December 14, 2024, and it never resets. It's a chill, longterm survival world for Java and Bedrock players together, where the roads, towns, and kingdoms keep growing. Take a break and come back: the world and its history will be here.
What "never resets" means
Lots of servers wipe their map every season or every year. Cozy's survival world doesn't: anything you build, or spend real time in, stays.
One thing does change. Every few months, usually after a Minecraft update that adds new biomes or features, land that players only passed through is refreshed: chunks (the 16-by-16-block sections the world is made of) where players have spent less than about five minutes in all, like land that was flown over or quickly looted. That brings fresh terrain and the newest biomes within reach of home and keeps the world's size manageable. A few blocks placed in passing, somewhere you barely stopped, might not stay. (The FAQ has this under "Does the world ever reset?")
And there's no world border. Head out far enough and you'll find land nobody has touched yet.
Real survival, friends nearby
It's like singleplayer, but with new friends. The world is on Hard difficulty with no keepInventory (when you die, your items drop where you fell), so survival means something. But you're not on your own: a private message tells you where you died, and other CozyKin (that's what we call Cozy's members) may come along to help with the recovery trip.
Live close to people or out in the wild; it's your choice. Roads and settlements keep spreading for players who like neighbors, and the wilderness stays open for those who'd rather build alone. One place to leave alone when you're new: spawn, where everyone first arrives. The 500 blocks around it in the Overworld are shared community space, where anything permanent needs a passed petition (a proposal the community votes on) first, so build your base outside it.
A world with a history
In a world that doesn't reset, history piles up. The spawn you'll arrive at was rebuilt by players, and the community voted on its plan. Kingdoms write their own lore (how kingdoms work), and megabuilds, roads, and shops keep growing. Shared areas, community infrastructure, and specific builds are decided by petition and vote (at least 60% of valid votes over three full days), so the world's story is the players'.
How builds are protected
There are no land claims on Cozy, because everyone plays by the same community code, the Cozy Code: no taking, no breaking, and no fighting unless both players agree. Every block placed or broken and every container opened is logged for 90 to 120 days, so what's taken or broken can be traced and put back. Report anything soon.
A build that shows real effort is protected from anyone acting alone; low-effort clutter, like a leftover dirt pillar, can be cleared by anyone. The only way a real build can change without its builder's OK is a public community vote: a petition that passes can take a build over, give it to someone else, open it to everyone, repurpose it, or remove it. The community decides, never one player. (How that works)
Who'll love it here, and who won't
You'll love it if you want a chill, longterm survival world you can put real time into; you like a real challenge with neighbors nearby; or you've lost a world to a reset or a griefer before.
It's not for you if you want a fresh map every season, keepInventory, or PvP (fighting other players) without asking. There are servers built for that, and that's fine; Cozy's survival world isn't one of them.
