Community & Recruitment

• Being friends, using DMs and group chats, and keeping up with people you met here. A group chat is a conversation, not a community.
• Playing non-Minecraft games together, including through Cozy's Other Games and Looking-for-Group channels. The privacy rules come with you: share a gamertag, not a phone number, real name, or personal social account.
• Playing together on a public Minecraft server you don't run, staff, or recruit for. A server is public if anyone can join it on their own, without an invite, whitelist, application, or someone letting them in — whether or not it's advertised anywhere. Naming one so a friend can meet you there is fine; arrange it in DMs, not in Cozy channels, and never post its address or link on Cozy (see External links). Cozy doesn't vet or recommend other servers, and Cozy's rules and staff don't apply there.
• Saying that you play elsewhere
• Belonging to another community that other Cozy members also belong to. Membership in another community is never a violation. Cozy has no say in who your community admits — only in whether you used Cozy to bring them there.
• Independently finding a public server through a listing, advertisement, or search and running into Cozy members there

• Giving a Cozy member access to a private or invite-only space you or your friends control — a Realm, a whitelisted server, a test or planning world, a private Discord. Use Cozy's Creative server for testing and planning.
• Sending Cozy members invites, addresses, or join information for a private or invite-only space, or for any community you're recruiting for — publicly or in DMs. DMs are not exempt.
• Promoting another Minecraft server, network, or Discord to Cozy members, or encouraging them to join it — public or not, yours or not. Meeting a Cozy friend on a public server is playing together; bringing Cozy members to one you run, staff, or recruit for is recruiting, however open its doors. And you don't have to run a server to recruit for it: working through Cozy's members — DMing people you don't play with, or lots of them — to get them onto another server is recruiting, whoever runs it and however public it is.
• Onboarding, whitelisting, introducing, or relaying access for Cozy members
• Bringing a Cozy contact into any space with a higher minimum age than Cozy's — 16+, 18+, adult-only — anywhere. You can't know their age.
• Operating or staffing another community for the purpose of drawing from Cozy's membership
• Organizing Cozy kingdoms, nations, factions, or player groups outside the official Cozy Discord — including in a group chat or another Discord. Groups are organized here; open a ticket or use /application to start one. A Discord that exists so a kingdom's members can join it — for a server tag, a roster, or anything else — is a kingdom Discord, whatever's inside it.
• Asking someone else to do any of the above for you
• "They asked first" is relevant but isn't permission. If someone got access through their Cozy connection with you, your role in providing it counts.

• Being invited isn't a violation, and neither is joining. Cozy doesn't decide where you play, and a finding is only ever about someone's own conduct — inviting, relaying access, onboarding, promoting. If you were invited, there is nothing to report yourself for.
• If it feels off — a private space, pressure, secrecy, anyone who might be a minor — open a support ticket and say who invited you and how. That's the whole job. You don't have to investigate, and nobody may contact, pressure, or expose you for reporting.
• The one time membership itself comes up is a safety designation (below): you'd be told privately, by name, asked to leave, and have your access restored on your word. It's a request, not a penalty.

• Findings are based on a person's own conduct, knowledge, role, and assistance, on a more-likely-than-not standard from reliable evidence considered together. Shared membership, rumor, and guilt by association are never enough.
• There is no required form of evidence. A screenshot isn't automatically conclusive; a detailed firsthand account isn't automatically sufficient.
• In an unclear or disputed case, staff explain the concern and allow a response before any final finding. Active disruption or clear evasion of an existing ban may justify immediate action, with review afterward.

In plain words: a heads-up, not a penalty. When staff have a documented, reasonable basis to believe a specific outside community is being built from Cozy's membership, they may privately tell a member so. An advisory notice is not a finding against the member, not a warning, and does not require anyone to leave anything; it's written down only so that nobody has to argue later about what was said and when. It establishes that, from that point, inviting, relaying access, onboarding, or organizing Cozy members into that community is a knowing violation. Being a member there stays your own business.

In plain words: a request to leave one specific community, because of who runs it — the only time membership itself comes up. Cozy may designate a specific outside community when it is operated by a person removed from Cozy for a safety violation or for ban evasion and it is being used to recruit, redirect, or target Cozy members. A designation is about who runs the community and what it is doing — not about who its members are. Holding an operational role there — admin, moderator, staff, onboarding — is incompatible with Cozy access. Ordinary members are privately told, by name, which community is designated and asked to leave it; Cozy access is paused until they confirm in writing that they have, and restored on that confirmation. Nobody is expected to work out from who's in a community whether it's the designated one, and nobody is treated as knowing until they've been told. Written confirmation is sufficient; staff never require screenshots, server lists, or account access. Each designation has a dated review, and a successor community must be separately reviewed before any enforcement.

Posting, placing, or hosting an outside Discord or server link anywhere on Cozy — messages, signs, books, maps, item names, builds, or said aloud in voice — is prohibited regardless of how it's described. A server address is a link: it's the way in, and one command on that server hands out the rest. The content is removed regardless of who placed it; consequences attach to the person who placed it. If a prohibited link turns up in a base you're part of, remove it or report it. Nobody has a duty to go looking.

Your Discord profile follows you to every server, so an outside invite in your bio isn't a violation by itself. Pointing Cozy members to it — "check my bio" — is, the same as posting the link. Staff will ask you to remove an invite to a designated community, and may ask about one to a community under advisory notice.

Cozy access is a privilege. Joining or participating in order to disrupt, undermine moderation, bypass safeguards, hunt for loopholes, mislead members, assist ban evasion, or funnel members elsewhere is bad-faith participation and may result in removal. So is repeated dishonesty during an investigation.

Cozy is a mixed-age community, and its safeguards don't travel. A public server has its own moderation; a private Realm or test world has none but its owner's. Because ages aren't collected here, nobody can assume that the person being invited into a private space is an adult — so Cozy will not be the way anyone gets there. And Cozy's membership is not a recruitment source for other communities. That's the whole rule; it has nothing to do with where you're allowed to play.
