• Exact age or birthdate
• Real name
• Country, state, region, city, neighborhood, address, or precise location
• School or workplace
• Whether they live near you or near anyone else
• Phone number or email
• Personal social-media accounts tied to real identity
• Travel plans, schedule, transportation, lodging, or attendance at a real-world event
• Face photographs or identifying video
• Financial, account, login, or other private information

Don't post or circulate other people's private messages. (Sending them to staff in a report is fine — see below.)

Don't pressure anyone to turn on a camera. Don't continue questioning after someone hesitates or declines. Don't combine clues to narrow down where someone is, and don't announce or share an inference. Hearing an accent or noticing a time zone is not a violation; acting on it is.

• You must not post your exact age or birthdate — including in a Discord bio or status.
• You should not post your real name, your location beyond a broad country, language, or time zone, your school or workplace, contact details, personal social accounts, or face photos and videos. Staff may remove or redirect this, and a single low-risk self-disclosure is not a ban — but sharing your own details invites others to share theirs, and it makes you easier to find.
• A username that happens to contain your real first name is not a violation. Don't confirm that it's your real name, and other members may not identify, guess, or confirm it.
• You should not link your Cozy username to an account that carries your real name — in a comment on a public post, a bio, a profile, anywhere. The whole point of these rules is that nobody here should be findable through Cozy; keep the two apart. Cozy will never ask you to connect them.

Your bio, status, avatar, and banner are yours, but Cozy members see them inside Cozy, so what the rules say about chat applies to them too: no exact age or birthdate (staff will ask you to remove it, and won't write the number down), nothing sexual or NSFW, no dating or romantic solicitation, and the same guidance above about your own real name, location, school, and personal accounts. Pronouns are fine, and so is how you identify — religion, orientation, gender, disability; see Respect & Inclusivity. Your real name is a different thing: it's what makes you findable, and it stays out.

Ordinary private friendships are allowed. Members may DM, use group chats, voice or video call, screen-share games and builds, play other games together, and continue relationships that existed before Cozy. Cozy does not monitor private friendships or read DMs. In-game private messages (/msg) are different only in that they run on Cozy's servers: every rule applies there, the chat filter covers them once it's running, they're logged like all server chat, and staff see them only while handling a report or a specific concern — never routinely.

What private contact may not be used for: obtaining personal information you'd be prohibited from asking for here, romantic or sexual conduct (see Content Standards), harassment, retaliation, recruiting, giving access to private spaces (see Community & Recruitment), or arranging in-person meetings.

Cozy cannot vouch for anyone's identity or age, so nobody should treat a Cozy contact as a verified adult, whatever they say. Assume any Cozy contact may be a minor, and never share or ask for anything you wouldn't want a minor to see. What people share privately is outside Cozy's rules unless it's used to break one, and none of it may be brought back into Cozy. If anything sexual has come up with someone who may be under 18, stop, keep no images, and report it.

Warning signs. Anyone who asks you to keep a conversation secret, offers gifts or money, asks for photos, pressures you to turn on a camera, asks where you live or go to school, or wants to move somewhere private — report it, even if it's a friend and even if you're not sure. That's exactly what tickets are for. If it's already gone further than you wanted, you can still report it: the person who comes forward is treated as the person at risk, not the one under review.

• Never record, keep, forward, or stream Cozy voice chat — the voice channels on the Cozy Discord and in-game voice on any Cozy server. Consent doesn't change this.
• A private call between members isn't Cozy voice chat. Recording one is governed by the law where you are and by the rest of these rules — it can't be used to obtain or expose personal information, and it can't be brought into Cozy. Whoever records is responsible for consent and the law, and should not record anyone they can't independently confirm is an adult.
• To report something that happened in voice chat, describe it in writing — date, channel, usernames, what happened, witnesses. A report is never rejected merely because there's no recording. If a recording already exists or someone sends you one, do not copy, forward, or upload it; tell staff in writing that it exists.

Stumbling on a member's public real-world profile is not a violation. Searching for one using clues from Cozy, running image searches, monitoring it, contacting the member through it, sharing it, or confirming that it belongs to a member is. Staff never search for members' real-world accounts; they may review material already submitted in a safety report.

• Cameras stay off in Cozy voice channels. Discord lets anyone in a voice channel turn on a webcam; here, nobody does. A face on camera is the identifying video the rules tell you not to share, and staff can't tell whose face it is.
• Screen sharing is for Cozy's own servers, your own worlds and builds, and the other games people play together. What's on your screen is content in a Cozy space, so the content rules apply to it: nothing sexual, nothing that shows another member's private information, no DMs, no personal social accounts, no camera feeds, no identification documents, no addresses or live locations, no live voice-call audio.
• Don't stream other Minecraft servers or Realms in Cozy voice. It turns into "where is that?" within a minute, and answering a channel full of Cozy members is promoting another server in a Cozy space — one of the things Cozy Stays on Cozy prohibits. Your own singleplayer world is yours to share. Other games are fine — a game isn't a community — but the answer to "what game is that?" is a name, never an invite.
• Private calls between members happen on Discord too, and Cozy can't see or control them. What the rules say about them is on this page: nobody may pressure anyone to turn on a camera, everyone treats every contact as possibly a minor, and the warning signs above are report triggers.

Cozy is an online community. Cozy and its staff do not organize, approve, verify, chaperone, or take responsibility for in-person meetings between members. Don't use Cozy spaces, roles, groups, staff, or prohibited personal information to propose, arrange, promote, or facilitate one, and don't ask staff or another member to relay contact details, confirm where someone lives, or deliver a meeting proposal.

A meeting that was not arranged through Cozy and that broke no other rule is not itself a violation — but Cozy does not endorse it and cannot vouch for anyone's identity or age. Report any location request, secrecy request, transportation or lodging offer, or pressure through a support ticket.

You may confidentially submit relevant messages, screenshots, message links, and usernames to staff through a support ticket or [email protected] for the purpose of reporting a concern. That evidence may not be posted publicly or shared outside the report. This exception never permits recording voice chat.

Nothing in these rules stops you from talking about your own experience with a parent or guardian, a partner, a doctor or counselor, a lawyer, a platform's safety team, law enforcement, Cozy staff through a ticket — or a friend you trust. Share what you need to. What this isn't for: circulating another person's private messages, images, or identity, or organizing pressure against them.

Adults and minors share this space, and the single most effective protection is meant to be that nobody can tell who is who. The voice-recording rule is absolute for the same reason: a recording outlives the moment and the consent.
