From lightest to heaviest: a correction or safety instruction · a warning · a final warning · a no-contact direction · a temporary review hold (access paused while something is reviewed — not a finding) · a temporary safety restriction · a suspension · final removal (a permanent ban after a finding).

Corrections and warnings don't pause access. On Minecraft they're delivered as a message on your next login, or as a chat mute when the issue is chat conduct. Holds, suspensions, and removals pause access; a safety restriction limits the specific thing it names — voice, contact, a role.

Every notice states which of these applies, the rule category involved, the general factual basis, and how to respond — where safe and practicable. Ordinarily you'll have a chance to respond before a final finding. Urgent situations (active disruption, a credible safety risk, ban evasion, retaliation risk, evidence destruction) may be acted on first and reviewed promptly afterward.

How a notice reaches you. On Minecraft, the login or disconnect screen shows your status and the reason and points to cozymc.com/ban-status. On Discord, a notice is sent to you by DM — before a ban or restriction takes effect where practicable, otherwise as soon as it can be. If you didn't get one, because your DMs were closed or the action had to come first, email [email protected] with your username and it will be sent to you.

Players are expected to comply with reasonable staff instructions about safety, moderation, and investigations. Serious cheating on Minecraft may also cost Discord access, and repeated violations may escalate across platforms.

A short list of violations results in permanent removal from both Discord and Minecraft, closed, with no appeal:

• Hate, slurs, or threats
• Sexual content; romantic or sexual conduct directed at someone the evidence indicates may be a minor — a stated age, a school year, a life-stage clue; and any exploitation
• Doxxing — distributing identifying information to expose or endanger someone
• Retaliation against, or interference with, a reporter or witness
• Ban evasion
• X-ray or other serious cheating
• Coordinated raids, mass spam, or deliberate attacks on the server or Discord

Discord bans are reviewed and intentional. A Discord ban for anything on the list above is permanent and closed. Any other Discord ban is permanent by default, but the person may submit one written appeal, no earlier than 12 months after the ban, to [email protected] — from themselves, stating their Discord and Minecraft usernames, the approximate ban date, and what is different now. No attachments about other people. Receipt is acknowledged; the decision is delivered in writing; there is no back-and-forth. Evading the ban during those 12 months ends eligibility.

Minecraft bans are appealable through a support ticket, or by email to [email protected] if you no longer have Discord access. An appeal is a review, not a debate: repeating the same explanation without new information may close it, and staff may decline further review once all available evidence has been considered.

Individual bans and appeals are handled in tickets only. Don't discuss, debate, or litigate someone's ban in public chat, voice, or community spaces. Friends and intermediaries can't appeal for anyone. Bans are not discussed with third parties. General discussion of server policy is always welcome in #policy-discussion.

While banned from Minecraft, stay out of the game-chat bridge and Cozy voice channels; a support ticket stays open to you. Accessing Cozy while banned through another account, platform, identity, or by switching between Java and Bedrock is ban evasion and results in permanent removal.

Individual cases stay in tickets for the sake of the people in them: the person reported, the person who reported, and any witnesses didn't choose to be argued about in public, and a case argued in chat is settled by who shouts loudest rather than by what happened. Policy is different — question it, criticize it, and ask for changes in #policy-discussion any time. And every notice states its reason and your route to respond, because a decision you can't see the basis of isn't one you can answer.
